Staycation, Day 3

Today I had a husband to hang out with again ALL DAY. It was cool. We got up and did our chores (amazing how quickly the laundry was all washed folded and put away without a child here!) and headed to Pungo for supplies. By supplies I mean

Ice cream and

Locally grown produce. It is peach season. We have two peach trees, both small, both of which grow lovely if very tiny peaches. We also live on a squirrel farm. Thus far the squirrels have been selfish with our peaches. We resort to purchasing them from other farmers. It’s fine. We don’t resent the squirrels. Next year I’m tying a lion to the tree though.

We also bought 2 bushels of corn which gets frozen as-is, right on the cob, unshucked. We pull it out, ear by ear, toss it on a hot grill or shucked and silked into a pot of boiling water and it is delicious.

The pic up there looks very dark because of what’s on the plate, a small piece of steak, a blue potato, veggies including tomatoes, bell pepper, jalapeno, eggplant, onion and garlic, and the corn. Yes, I’m gaining weight. What of it?

We caught ourselves watching a movie with clothes on. It was a little disheartening. We dutifully resumed our nudist protocol and moved ahead.
