Staycation, Day 2, with husband

Mark took this day off of work and we spent the day doing chores, inside, mostly in the nude. Those of you who never walk around your houses sans attire really need to give it a try. You can turn down the a/c and worry less about laundry, wear something when you cook though, things can get a bit dicey if you don’t.

Those mushroom lanterns are a Pinterest craft that I thought looked like a lot of fun. They’re adorable though I will use tall jars with some weight in the bottom rather than the globes called for which are too fragile to be lasting.

We played with our food.

Dehydrated tomatoes.

Canned tomatoes.

and ate a huge lunch of flounder that Mark caught, homemade biscuits with homegrown jalapenos and cheddar cheese, a big Brandywine from the garden and some local blue crabs. Then we took a nap, went swimming, and watched a movie…all of the little things people do on vacation, only we did them at home.

Yes, we still had to feed the menagerie and wash our own dishes but we are comfortable and available to our family and content. This stay-at-home-vacation thing is pretty cool so far.
