So far as I can see, the difference between being a Conservative and being a Liberal is that Liberals don’t want to know what you’re doing, but whatever it is they would like to make it possible for you to do peacefully and privately. Conservatives want to know what everyone is doing, in every instance and then they want to regulate it, tell you how to do it, whether or not you *can* do it and then to be allowed to watch just in case you do it wrong.
There are those who think that Liberals want more law and Conservatives want less but with the advent of bill HB1 in the Virginia Legislature, the bill that’s being referred to as the Fetal Personhood bill, it’s comes glaringly clear that the opposite is true.
The government has NO RIGHT to tell me what to do with my uterus. None. All of the rest of it: abortion morality; personal choice; religion, is irrelevant. We do not live in a Christian state, we live in a secular state. No one has the right to make these choices for women. It would make just as much sense to randomly choose 50% of the male population and make them have vasectomies in order to prevent unwanted pregnancies. If the government is going to be inside my body, why shouldn’t men get a taste, too?
