A House Built of Straw

We were spending a good deal of time wondering how to keep the sheep out of the rain this winter, not having a shelter in place already. In typical me fashion, I dreamed this. Yes, like in my sleep. Mark and Travis stacked the bales and hammered in the posts. Now we just need to cap off the posts and cover the top with more bales for insulation. For $40 in straw, a $15 sheet of plywood and a few concrete blocks which everyone has sitting around (right?), our wee flock now has snug winter home.

When we look inside all we can see are asses…but seriously, they *are* sheep.

*Note: Yes, we will be capping off the t-posts as soon as we find the little rubber thingies in Mark’s pig pile shed.

  1. I loved that you dreamed this! We come up with the best ideas in our sleep don’t we! For me it’s that time when I am in between sleep and awake that I come up with ‘ideas’ ~Suzy
