The Preacher and His Wife

I think this is the same mallard pair who hung out all of last winter. I love looking at Preacher Man’s white clerical collar and his wife’s dowdy brown dress πŸ˜‰ Fall here signals a change from looking to the sky for raptors, to looking to the water for fowl. There is something very homey about the sounds ducks and geese make.

One Response to The Preacher and His Wife

  1. Kerry says:

    Love. πŸ™‚

In the spring, my mother’s back yard plays ‘country kitchen’ to Fred and Ethel Duck.

Fred and Ethel (version 1.0) arrived for the first time when I was 14 or so… The current version (I’m imagining these are not the same original ducks. They’d be really old!) ducks are rather bold. They walk up onto the back deck, and they tap with their beaks on the back french doors….. they have us very well trained πŸ™‚ We go feed them when they ‘knock’ politely. The last 3 years has been the same ducks – we can tell by the small hole in Ethel’s foot.

Its pretty neat to have visitors like this πŸ™‚ I’m glad you have them, too.
