Great Egret

Every day this bird (I think it’s the same one) visits the marsh behind our house to hunt. I love sitting and watching her stalk, crouch and snap up whatever marsh critters she makes her meals of. She is ungainly but somehow elegant, like a lanky, tall socialite who moves with small physical grace but is entirely captivating in spite of it. I’m going to name her Kathryn Hepburn.
