Scavenger Hunt

Martina and Robin posing with their Scavenger Hunt spoils.

Over the weekend we worked on putting up fencing. Mark handled the auger, Travis did everything we couldn’t and I ran the tractor. Martina would have been okay, left to her own devices but instead her cousin was home and that made the weekend a little slice of heaven. On Sunday I made up a Scavenger Hunt for them with the reward being an ice cream from 7-11.

It took them about 2 hours to collect everything on the list but they did it and had a ball. A few things they had to travel for, like a flower petal from Grandaddy’s house and the piece of pine straw from the Houseboat woods. They collected every single item, though.
I think they were very proud of themselves. Instead of ice cream, they chose Slurpees and Mark got them big ones, cherry and cola mixed. I will be happy when we no longer have to pack up and leave when the work is finished but can just walk to the house, go inside and put up our feet.
