Congraduations

No, that’s not a horrible misspelling, it’s true. This blog post is a congratulatory post. For Randall who has spent 4 years at UNC, working, learning, and partying. It’s for my father, without whom Randall would not be graduating debt-free. It’s for me, my ex-husband and my husband and my wife-in-law (my ex’s wife, MJ) who all had a hand in raising this beautiful, incredibly intelligent man who now holds a BA in International Studies.

Today we are all Tar Heels through and through. Later I intend to be celebratorily drunk as hell. For now, I just want to share a few photos and my feelings, nameless and huge though they are, about how my son has always made me proud. The picture above says it all for me, he is filled up with everything anyone can give him and he has been set free to fly wherever it is he has to go and here we all are, standing on the ground beneath. Watching. Waiting. Hoping. Knowing he will land in the perfect place.

PS-the guy on the big TV screen? Desmond Tutu. We were all South African today.
