It’s funny watching Travis try to come up with a song for his Freestyle performance. He is an Equestrian Vaulter and has recently joined the Blue Star Farm Vaulting Team. It’s not only amazing that an almost-17 year old boy is willing to wear spandex pants in front of an audience but that he is actually into this enough that he’s sifting through our Ipod index looking for the perfect song to complete his Kir (sp?) moves to in competitions and demonstrations. I’m pretty excited for him and I really admire him for being able to get past the spandex in order to participate in this wonderful sport. He seems to have decided on Caballo Diablo by Chris Ledoux for his song.
This year we decided to cut back on the number of activities the kids participate in and for each of them to focus on one thing. One thing close to home. Travis chose vaulting. He’s good at it. He’s beautiful to watch. He’s willing to try the most amazing things on a horse. His instructors, Nicole and Sarah are wonderful, professional, easy to get along with and really know their stuff.
Yesterday the BSF Team participated in a demonstration for some local 4Hers. Here is a short clip of Travis and his young partner doing their team routine. I was so into watching them that I forgot to tape the first half of their routine.
